We haven't stayed in these hotels yet. Every detail below comes from the hotel's own website or Ljubljana Tourism, checked in October 2026, and each card links its sources. Walking times are by map, not walked. We'll add first-hand verdicts and our own photos after our first visit.

How We Chose These Hotels

The list covers the hotels our area and stay guides already compare, plus the ones travelers search for by name, with at least two per budget or trip style. For each one we read the hotel's own pages on arrival, parking, access, rooms and breakfast, and took only what is stated there or on Ljubljana Tourism. Where a hotel publishes nothing on a point, the card leaves it out instead of guessing.

Walking times come from OpenStreetMap walking routes from each hotel's address to Prešeren Square and to the train and bus station, at an easy pace without luggage. Noise notes describe the location only; they are not a sleep test.

Where is the best area to stay in Ljubljana?

For a first visit, the Old Town for atmosphere or the City Center for easier logistics, especially with luggage or a car. Our where-to-stay guide compares six areas by budget, noise and access.

Can a taxi drive to my hotel in central Ljubljana?

Often not to the door. Much of the Old Town and the streets around Prešeren Square are pedestrianized, so many central hotels name a drop-off point or a public garage instead. Each card above says what the hotel publishes; ask for current instructions before you arrive.

Is it better to stay in Lake Bled or Ljubljana?

Ljubljana is the easier base for the city plus several day trips, since buses and trains to most destinations leave from its central station. Stay at Bled if the lake itself is the point of your trip and you want it early in the morning or late in the evening.

How many days in Ljubljana is enough?

Two days suit most first visits: one for the Old Town, castle and river, one for museums, Tivoli Park or a day trip. One day covers the highlights; three let you add a full day trip without rushing.

When should I book a hotel for Christmas in Ljubljana?
