Use the programme to choose a visit
Do not treat the festival window as a daily showtime. Once the next programme appears, choose one named performance with a clear start and location. A daytime activity, spoken stage piece and evening music performance can suit very different visitors.
For a family, check ages, language, running time and whether a workshop needs registration. For an evening out, music or visually led performance may be easier to enjoy without Slovene, but the individual description should decide. Keep a second nearby option if a popular public-space event is crowded.
A central route with room to pause
Use Congress Square as your orientation point, then plan a short walk through the nearby center before the performance. Choose your meal or snack break before taking a place in a crowd. A single central event fits well into a sightseeing day because you can keep the rest of the route flexible.
Arrive early enough to understand the audience area. Do not assume free admission means reserved seating, and avoid blocking pedestrian routes or access spaces. Ask the organizer about the specific show's seating and wheelchair viewing arrangements if they matter to your visit.
Free entry and outdoor conditions
The 2026 programme was free, but the next edition's activities still need checking individually. Food and purchases around an event cost extra, and some workshops may require registration even if there is no ticket price. Bring what you need for the weather rather than expecting an indoor waiting area.
Check same-day notices for rain, heat or a changed performance location. If the event is cancelled or the timing does not work, switch to an indoor attraction or a relaxed central walk; there is no need to build your entire June trip around an unconfirmed programme.
